As a family-owned business, our story is one built on tradition, expertise, and a deep connection to the industrial and machinery field—a legacy that spans over 70 years.
Where It All Began
Our family’s journey in the machinery industry began in 1952, when our grandfather founded Joyce Equipment, a company that operated until 1982. His passion for machinery and commitment to service led him to expand further, establishing Industrial Plant Service, Inc. in 1964, which he operated through 1982.
Both businesses specialized in storing, renting, moving, and operating industrial and metalworking equipment—laying the foundation for what would become a multi-generational family tradition.
Building on a Strong Foundation
In 1982, our family launched Industrial Plant Service, continuing the focus on machinery moving and industrial support services. The knowledge, skills, and values instilled by our grandfather carried forward into this next chapter of the family business, where reliability, precision, and customer relationships remained at the heart of everything we did.
When Industrial Plant Service retired, Equip Trucking & Warehousing, LLC made the decision to take on their employees—many of whom had been part of the business for 20–30 years and truly felt like family. This was more than a business move; it was a commitment to the people who had helped build our family’s legacy.
The Next Generation: Equip Trucking & Warehousing, LLC
At first, our plan was simple: focus solely on trucking and warehousing (hence our company name). But only a few weeks in, the phone started ringing nonstop—Industrial Plant’s long-time customers were asking us to take on rigging and machinery moving jobs.
Although we hadn’t originally set out to offer those services, we quickly realized we were in the best position to meet those needs. With decades of experience, trusted employees, and loyal customers, we took the plunge into rigging and machinery moving—and it has been a cornerstone of our business ever since.
Because our name didn’t reflect these services, we also registered a DBA in Pennsylvania: Equip Rigging & Machinery Moving, ensuring that our brand represents all that we do.
